Hi All,
At the moment we're evaluating the NXTop product in-house on a HP ML110 server running Windows 2008. This appears to run well however I would ideally like to migrate the server on to our vSphere virtual environment to free up the test server for other uses but I am not sure if the hyper visor would run successfully on VMware. Has anyone else had any experience doing this?

Probably won't happen any time soon. I wanted to do it from the start but as it was explained to me (and it makes perfect sense) you can't run a virtual machine (HyperV)inside another VM (ESX or any other hypervisor) there are just too many intangibles and pass through issues. Maybe someday.......

NxTop Center 2.0 is tightly integrated with Microsoft Hyper-V for server-side management of NxTop Images that can be published to laptop or desktop clients. Since Hyper-V uses a Type 1 hypervisor it can't run within a ESX VM.
Therefore a bare-metal installation of Windows 2008 Server R2 is required for NxTop, although in version 2.0 we now support running the NxTop Center as a Hyper-V virtual appliance. For more information on this refer to the documentation available in the Virtual Computer customer portal:
